Columbia Records unveiled the LP or “long play record” in New York City on 16/06/1948. The first LPs that were commercially released were The Voice of Frank Sinatra (a reissue on a 10” disc) and Nathan Milstein with the Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra of New York’s Mendelssohn Concerto in E Minor for Violin and Orchestra.
